In 1950 Gaza's population was 240'000. Today it is 1.5 million. By current trends it will reach 3 millions in 2040. The reason for this growth is that the majority of it's population does not have to provide for it's offspring. Most babies are fed, clothed, vaccinated and educated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). And this growth results in a huge overhang of young males.
